About Me
I'm Matt — a Cloud Engineer with over 20 years of experience delivering enterprise-scale digital solutions. Based in the Greater Derby area, UK.
I started out as a web designer and front-end developer, building interactive experiences for brands like the Royal Opera House, Travelex, and Mobiles.co.uk. Over the years I've worked across the full stack — from CSS wizardry and AngularJS/Vue.js/React to cloud infrastructure and platform engineering.
Currently I'm a Cloud Engineer at CDS UK, where I built a Terraform module system managing 400+ Cloudflare zones, migrated ~1,000 domains, and wrote 52 Cloudflare Workers — all as a single engineer using AI-assisted workflows.

Terraform, Cloudflare, Azure, Docker, GitHub Actions

AI-Assisted Engineering
I use AI tools like Claude Code as a daily pair programmer — not as a replacement for thinking, but as a force multiplier. At CDS UK, I maintained a 500-line context file as institutional memory across 14 accounts, enabling a single engineer to deliver platform-team-scale output. Side projects like TechPartPrices (a full-stack price comparison site) and this site were both built with Claude Code.
Beyond Code
When I'm not coding, you can find me exploring new tech, tinkering with homelab setups, or competing in hackathons — I won Experian's "Learning About Money Challenge" at Hack24 2018.
